On taking something scary and making it something funny…

“The doctors told me to get my papers in order.

They said it wouldn’t last.

Do they mean life, or cancer?

Apparently, I am good at cancer.

No medical, practical, scientific reason why I’m still kickin’ around giving orders.  Thirteen years of realized dreams and goals.

No star out of reach.

Graduations, weddings, holding close my first grandchild, career achievements, jumping out of an airplane with a man strapped to my back (a promise to my only son.)

I’m a product of prayer.  A recipient of miracles galore.”

“There is a profound tie between the health of the soul and the health of the body.  And we are all faced with a profound choice when we are faced with a diagnosis.

We can sit on the sidelines and be consumed and grumpy, or we can choose to dance.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not always easy…

But if you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, march down there and turn it on yourself!”

This amazing woman is my Aunt Connie…my youngest daughter is named “Hope Connie Beth” in her honour (I became pregnant with Hope just after Connie was diagnosed in 1997).

I am so proud of my aunt…she is so loved!

As a daughter there is no real way to express in words how proud I am of my mom! She is strong, a fighter but also vulnerable and imperfect. God has a purpose for my mother and she continues to live her life in a way that inspires and encourages! Thanks to all our family, friends, caregivers and complete strangers that have loved and supported us through it all! And mom… you look amazing!
    XOXOXOX

One day Mrs.Titus asked my mom to find me she was in the sanctuary of our church. so i approached Mrs. Titus and she was crying. I asked y and she went into how she had been diagnosed with cancer. I said yes i know that i had heard through the people in church. She went into telling how she was proud of me and how she would miss me and church and watching all us kids grow up. I was perplexed why she was crying. I asked y r u sad u r going to meet god. She looked at me and laughed through the tears and said i just wish i could be around longer to watch all u guys grow up. Well now I am 33 have a 6 yr old son,Laird. And all I can say looking back is her wish came true. Some people get miracles blessed apon them for the blessing of miracles they wished apon others. Mrs. Titus was not sad to die but sad she could not be around to support us and see our lives unfold. I will always remember that day when this lady was more concerned with how our lives will turn out then when her’s will end. Mrs. Titus your wish came true.

    best wishes
    Rory
