On the friendship of women…
“I think I have found more joy in the simple things, the tiny simple things we do every day.
It changed me; it has to.
I’m older now.
And I just so appreciate every second.
I appreciate my family more, and I think they appreciate me. And people, friends, girlfriends. They were the ones that pulled me through.
The minute they first heard I had breast cancer, they were on my doorstep, my girlfriends. And we are still all very tight and close today.
It’s the girls that help us fight.
You fight for your family and you’d do anything for your family that you need to do. But there is some kind of connection with our lady friends that pull us through.
It’s very special.
They were the ones that brought the meals, they were the ones that had the cards, made the phone calls to cheer you up.
All the women just seem to understand.”

Gayle, thanks for being a lovely and amazing friend. I thank God for you and your family and am blessed in countless ways by your friendship. If she were still with us, my mother Helen would be 96 today…she was as you are, a breast cancer survivor. Never forget all the fun we’ve had and what is yet to come!
Gayle – our husbands made us sisters and we took it from there! You are an inspiration to all of us who have fought the battle. Great pictures – you look fabulous!
