“The doctor asked me if I would talk to a woman that had come in for a consult with him. At that time, she was exactly where I was 6 months before that, doing the exact same treatment that I had been going through.
It was really interesting. We talked for a long time.
Starting out is the hardest part.
You have to make your decisions. It’s just tough.
Once you get on your path and you’re moving, everyone helps you with what to do.”
“It’s all doable….It’s not always pleasant, but it’s doable.
You’re going to get through it.
There are days you think you’re not going to get through it. There are days you don’t think you can.
I look back and it’s interesting to think that, at that moment, I really didn’t think I could.
But of course you can, right?
You know you can.”

Kristen -
You are beautiful and your words are beautiful. I am sure your words will be very meaningful and helpful to many women.
I work with your sister, Kim, and always say a little prayer for you when I hear that Kim is off work occasionally to be with you.
Take care,
Shelley Bernd
Kristen, You keep up the good work. You seem to be very strong.
My Grandmother who raised me had a Mastectomy I’m sure before I was ever born. I was born in 1963. So she fought the battle for many years and she never complained or anything. So when I was growing up I never knew she was even sick or anything. My favorite story to tell about my Grandmother is…One day she was taking a bath and she was babysitting some kids and a little girl came running into the bathroom to ask her a question, but when she flung the door open and noticed that my Grandmother only had 1 Breast she put her hand over her mouth and said….My Ma Ma has 2 of those. It was so funny and cute. She was born in 1918 and she passed away in 1989. She was the greatest Woman to even live. So you keep up the fight cause I’m sure that you can be as strong as my Grandmother was. I work with your Sister, Kim so I know if your kin to her you have to be Strong cause she is strong willed. God Bless you Kristen. My Prayers are with you.
Kristen you are a beautiful young woman and an insperation to many others. My sister had breast cancer too but survived and is the light of my heart. Stay strong and know many people love and wish only good things for you. See you at the Christmas Party this year. Connie
I know you have no clue who I am but felt compelled to leave a comment. Your wonderful Mother shared just a wee bit of your brave journey with me. I always ask about you and keep you in thought and prayer. I just wanted you to know that I am yet another soul out there that has been extremely touched and inspired by your bravery and strength. You are beautiful inside and out. Thank you for being who you are and being a person so inspiring to others. God bless you always and in all ways.
