On being diagnosed at a young age…

“Things, no matter how bleak it may look right now, because that’s what I remember.

You look at a tree outside and you wonder, ‘Is this the last time I’m going to be seeing this?  Am I going to be able to watch a sunset?’

All these things going through your mind.  But, no matter how things look right now, and even though you can’t see your future, it’s going to be okay.

You just need to go through everything that you have to go through and just have faith.

Don’t give up.”

“You’re not alone.  The cancer diagnosis, I don’t think I can say that I’m thankful, like “Oh, yea!  I had cancer.”

But, I am just grateful.

There are so many of us out there.

It almost makes me feel like I’m part of a group, a special group.  And I like that.

I don’t like that I had cancer, but I like that there is a special group and I’m not alone.  It’s amazing that you can just connect like that.”
